I sent in my consent form, but I haven’t received a confirmation email?

  • Once a consent form has been sent to the office, it may take a few business days to get approved.
  • If you fax over your consent form, please call the office (403-266-5448) or email yvc@cyfc.ca to confirm that we have received the form.
  • If after a few business days you haven’t received a confirmation please call the office (403-266-5448) or email yvc@cyfc.ca to follow up.

Why can’t I log into my YVC account?

  • Please ensure that you have signed up online for a YVC account and sent in your completed consent form into the office.
  • Your YVC account may not have been approved. Once it’s approved you’ll received a confirmation email.
  • You need to use the original email address that you first signed up with in order to log on, unless you have updated your account.
  • If you are 19 or older, your account has been deactivated. If you need to access your hours, please call the office (403-266-5448) or email yvc@cyfc.ca.

I can’t remember my password, what do I do?

  • Please call the office (403-266-5448) or email yvc@cyfc.ca to retrieve your password.

Why is the YVC project I wanted to sign up for full?

  • Depending on the YVC project only 6-12 youth can sign up per shift.
  • For projects with multiple dates, once a project is full an icon will automatically be displayed next to the date.
  • One time projects may sometimes be full without showing the icon.     

Why can’t I see the address for the volunteer project I signed up for?

  • YVC does not post the address for volunteer projects in order to prevent volunteers that haven’t signed up from showing up.
  • When the Team Leader calls he or she will tell you the project location.

Why hasn’t the Team Leader called me?

  • The Team Leader typically only calls volunteers a couple days before the project date.
  • If the project is one day away and you still have not heard back from anyone, please contact the YVC Coordinator at 403-266-5448 or email yvc@cyfc.ca to follow up.

Why can’t I see the time and/or date for a volunteer project on the YVC Projects webpage?

  • Please click the “More Details” button underneath the project for the date, time and a description of the project.

Why can’t I see the project that I signed up for on the YVC Projects webpage any longer?

  • When projects fill up, we often take them off the website to prevent people from signing up and not being able to participate.
  • The Team Leader will still know to contact you about the project details.
  • Your projects are still listed under your account

Are there age restrictions when signing up for a volunteer project with YVC?

  • Volunteer must be between the ages of 12-18 (junior high and senior high).
  • YVC partners with over 100 agencies and some agencies require volunteers to be a certain age.
  • On the YVC Projects webpage, each project will have an icon stating what age the volunteer must be (example: 12+, 13+, 14+).

If I am under 12 years old, can I still volunteer with YVC?

  • Unfortunately, anyone under 12 years of age will have to wait until they turn 12.
