This year's topic is voter apathy... Council votes at the beginning of each year on a main theme for the Mayor's Youth Council to focus their efforts. The majority of their community work and events will revolve around the issue of voter apathy.

The Mayor's Youth Council CitySpeak Committee is mentoring the Village Square Youth Advisory Council this year. They will guide the team at the Village Square Leisure Centre on how to develop a strong council, how to run effective meetings and retaining council members.
