Established in 1992, Global Partners is a non-profit organization committed to facilitating intercultural understanding, global competence and friendship. They accomplish these goals through innovative homestay and youth exchange programs throughout North America.
Global Partners is committed to providing students with quality English and French instruction and outstanding cultural experiences, while creating memories and friendships that will last a life time. Homestay is an integral part of the programs. Students are placed in North American homes and become part of the family. The Host Families are carefully selected so that students and families are matched based on common interests and personalities. The Global Partners homestay experience is complemented by the fundamentals learned while participating in classroom and group activities.
Global Partners delivers world-class programs in communities all across North America. They are able to do this because of the strong partnerships that they have fostered over the years with host families, schools, teachers and city and town governments. The Head Office is located in the coastal city of Vancouver in the western province of British Columbia. They maintain regional offices in Edmonton, Calgary, Ottawa, and Abbotsford. These areas are the most popular destinations for the short-term programs.
The YVC connection is the conversation buddies program during classroom sessions. Volunteers encourage the students to practice their English skills through conversation consisting of several different topics of common interest. Conversation Buddies is very popular and hopefully will continue to be a successful project in summers to come.
