Child and Youth Friendly Calgary is now home to www.youthareawesome.com, a blog-based site where youth seek out and write the content, whether it be a cool website they have found, youth events happening around Calgary, or an awesome volunteering opportunity!  Launching in late July, Youth Are Awesome will be updated daily, so make sure you check it often!

Youth Are Awesome was previously known as Calgary Urban Vibe.  One of the cool things about Youth Are Awesome is that we will feature youth-related news and upcoming events from CYFC’s different partner agencies throughout the city.  This will include TeenLineVibe.  As a partnership between Youth Are Awesome and the Distress Centre Calgary, TeenLineVibe is an on-line peer support network for youth who need advice on a variety of issues such as health and relationships.

MISSION...

Youth Are Awesome is a website maintained by youth for youth, dedicated to “showcasing the great things youth are doing and the great things they can be doing” in Calgary.

VISION...

We envision a site that engages a new group of young “bloggers” who want to celebrate the great things youth are doing and the great opportunities they can participate in throughout Calgary.  Youth Are Awesome will encompass news on cool things happening around the city, volunteering opportunities, features on awesome youth in Calgary, and updates on various CYFC programs such as the Mayor’s Youth Council.  This is a site that will fill the void on the internet of sites that are dedicated to profiling fantastic youth, and fantastic youth opportunities.
