YVC Volunteer Policies

The Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) program offers young people of junior and senior high school ages an opportunity to engage in volunteer projects. With over 130 non-profit agencies requesting the support of youth volunteers, the opportunities are endless.

Each team of youth volunteers is led by a trained Team Leader. Training for the team is provided by the agency that asks for volunteers and a paid Team Leader is provided by Child and Youth Friendly Calgary.

Consisting of 20 nominated members from the YVC program and YVC Clubs in Schools program, the steering committee plans initiatives such as youth driven projects, Global Youth Service Day and Empty Bowls.
